The nexpods seem more re-usable if that makes sense, the ne-cap pods although they work pretty good they seem to almost get destroyed in the process hehe.

He goes on to conclude that neither are cheap enough to warrant the extra hassle, unless they actually start being sold in supermarkets. Take heed, alternative Nespresso capsule manufacturers! Thanks to Rob for the info.

3rd Update! - Coffeeduck reusable capsules for NespressoThese come recommended by someone on the illustrious Pistonheads forums.


Coffeduck Nespresso capsules They fit other coffee makers too, but Nespresso is what I am contracted into. You can buy them on eBay for about 10 quid, then you get 3 capsules that you pack your own coffee in.

I wonder how well they cope with the need to compress the coffee in however? Nespresso use a vacuum packing compression of some kind that means the pods are full of coffee. Hard to do that at home and fiddly, too, I suspect. Worth a go though, if only to use one’s own preferred poison coffee bean.
